Clothes Show 2013

Sorry this is late but I broke my phone and some of my footage was on there! So I've done a selection of some of my favorite photo's to be in collaboration with my vlog that I made. Afterwards I realized that it looks like I basically followed Henry Holland around all day. But I don't care because I managed to meet my favorite designer (I may have fangirled abit ALOT). Anyway here is a selection of my favorite moments.

Topshop Matte Nail Varnish | Review

Only the other day I bought this matte nail varnish from topshop. I was swapping some jeans which were £40 and I found something I wanted for £29 so I had £11 left I spend £5 on jewelry and I had £6 to spend and I came across all the nail varnished some being £5 and others £6 I went for one of the £6 ones mainly because I needed to spend that exact amount of money.  Anyway I've ended up loving this electric blue colour it would be great for just brightening up a winter outfit yet its keeping it subtle as it is a lovey matte formula. Topshop have an excellent range of colours if you aren't too keen on the one I've picked; there's pinks and blacks and a few others that really I can't remember.

Festive!

Well last weekend was the official decorating period  however my family being disorganised as always still hasn't got them up and that makes me sad :( So I thought I'd compromise and make my life festive in my own personal way so until new years day I will be changing my background to make my blog all Christmassy!

What to wear? | Clothes Show

This year I am attending clothes show for the second year running mainly because it's so much fun and I just think it's such a great experience. So this year I've planned ahead for anyone who's reading and is needing abit of inspiration. Anyway I've decided that I will be wearing my gold, black and navy blue straight skirt paired with either my light blue or beige fluffy jumper as I'm not sure yet. Also I will be wearing my biker coat and some black suede boots with fur inside, I'm getting a feeling I'm going to be abit hot hmmm.

Fashion in Five | December!

Firstly I'm going to start this post with an apology as I only posted once last month and it was my annual fashion in five. But seriously I've just been so busy recently and mostly it's been homework that's just been weighing me down. But anyway I'm rather proud as this is the third time I've done this so it is official I'm not a complete fail of a blogger woop!

Outfit of the moment
Well as it's getting very festive as we draw closer to Christmas I'm going to start with a Christmas jumper and some black jeans and to finish off this look with a black biker jacket with a fluffy jumper.

Accessory you can't live without
It's soo cold outside there is only one possible answer and it would be something I got for my birthday of two of my friends. Which is a scarf from zara which is extra snuggly and has some really nice colours in it.

Current Obsession
Candles! At this time of year I just love to constantly have candle on as they just look so pretty and make me feel all tingly!

Latest Splurge
I've been needing a new coat for quite a while now as I've been using my coat from last year. So I thought it would be nice to have a change and I know I wanted one with fur on because I just think it looks so cute and snuggly at this time of year. And also I wanted a black one just because it matches anything and it's easy. I ended up getting one from topshop this coat was quite pricey considering it's from a high-street store. So I got a black biker jacket with a woollen collar and it was £75 but it is the most comfy thing ever and I think it was worth it!

Style Icon
Victoria Baker-Harper who is a character out of Made in Chelsea and I absolutely adore what she has been wearing recently. I follow her twitter account and love stalking her and looking what she doing and wearing and I just think she is the perfect person if  you need abit of influence.

Fashion in Five | November!

Outfit of the moment
Ohh my navy wool (not knitted that's just what it says on the label) skirt and bobly light blue jumper both from topshop. Then as it's getting really and I mean really cold in rainy England a coat and leather brown my high boots.

Accessory you can't live without
My multi coloured necklace from primark it was a right barging and I absolutely live it, it matches everything and makes any outfit look that little but better which sometimes makes a real difference.

Current Obsession
PYJAMAS! Normally I'm not one of those people to come home and put my pyjamas on straight away and live in them. But recently I've even walking around in them all the time because it's so cold outside and they're just so comfy! And if your in need of some festinve yet really comfy pyjama bottoms I have recently purchased a pair of cream, red and green tartan pants which just make me feel so Christmassy!

Latest Splurge
Right now I'm choosing not to splurge out on anything because my birthday is mid-way through this month so hopefully I'll have something good next month!

Style Icon
Hmm right now I'm really loving everything Kate Phelan wears; she pairs all her outfits beautifully creating a really graceful look.

Selena Gomez's Style

Recently I watched a Ryan Sea crest interview with Selena Gomez and it got me thinking about how much I love her style so I thought I'd do a post on her. She can be very versatile and suits most things so I've split this post into three sections being;Sparkles, Pastels/ Mint green and Formal/Mature wear.

Sparkles!

I really love this dress and all the sparkly gloriousness! One thing I really do love is the colour of the dress next to her skin tone it makes her look so radiant. And I am in love with the way she has her hair in that sleek and there isn't a better word for this than... bob.

Pastels/ Mint Green

I am in love with this edit of Selena's style it shows us her soft style yet she still looks bold moreover amazing. I think pairing pastels and flowers just looks so cute but it looks even better in knits and accompanied with mulberry!

Formal/ Mature Wear
Credit to ployvore
Selena has taken the LBD a step further accessorising it with netting and gold embroidery giving it that ooh so sheek look. This outfit looks so great on the red carpet and Selena has made it her own by toning it down with her messy bun which makes it more suitable for her age.

Fashion in Five | October

Basically this post is something that I'm going to try to start doing towards the start of every month, as I saw an interview in YOU magazine set out like this and I really liked all the questions. This made me think how I'd answer these at the moment and I thought why don't I make this into a monthly post on my blog! So here's my first one; I apologies if it's a load of rubbish that no one wants to know about but this is the stuff I love to read. Oh I don't half go on jeez...

Outfit of the moment
Ohhhh I find putting good outfits really hard to put together but I'll have a go. So i'm starting with my indigo Jamie jeans from topshop (ohh lordy these are soo comfy),and my bright orange shirt, then layering it all up with a baggy patterned jumper, swede boots and a snug coat.

Accessory you can't live without
Hmmm my black swede bargain boots. At ten pounds these boots are my winter essentials, I am really heavy on my feet so primark shoes normally never last at all on me but I've worn these quite often recently and they still look like brand new. How ether my favorite thing about these shoes is that they have black fur inside so they're so warm and cost. Buy them online at primarks new website!

Current obsession
Prints and bold pattern, oh my gosh I'm in love! At the moment if you walk down the high street you'd be seeing all the different prints and patterns in the window. Howether that's not what I like I love mixing all the patterns together and seeing what they look like. Most people would be like: eww that's way too much. But I just seem to be really loving it.

Latest splurge
Winter clothes like lots of them. I seem to have convinced myself that I need a whole new winter wardrobe, which I don't, but I just keep seeing stuff and being like: aww I can imagine me wearing this all the time. Turns out when I buy stuff like this I get set on it and I think about it all the time until I buy it then I'd where it like the week after, but then it gets stuffed in my wardrobe!

Style icon
Hmmm id have to say Henry Holland, you may think I go on about him all the time. but I'm only writing this because he has been a clear focus of my GCSE textiles work. I'm not going to say anymore because you'll be getting to see that very soon!

Back To School Bargins!

So school is starting again this week and It's time to order in all the new uniform for the new year! Most of the time I know exactly what I want and I'm able to find it really easily. That remains the same with everything from cameras to clothes but one thing I really struggle to make my mind up on is school shoes!
I really hate the boring plain shoes many of us wear because I feel that is one part of the uniform we can really express our selves and show our personality. So I find it difficult to find a pair of shoes that are right for me.
But I HAVE found the perfect pair!

PETA

In the past year my eldest sister has had the most fantastic journey through Asia! It all started when she applied to spend a year abroad at HKU (hong kong university). From there she travelled to all sorts of places including the likes of Macau, The Phillipines, Cambodia, Thailand, KualaLumpur, Shanghai, Singapore and The Borneo Jungle! This was all before she spent her last four weeks in Manilla where she was an intern at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). Here is one of the many blog post she wrote http://blog.petaasiapacific.com/activism/the-intern-experience-briony-thompson. Be sure to share the page on Facebook and twitter to help support the cause.

Glasses!

Some youtubers/bloggers including Louise, Tanya and Zoe were contacted and asked to take part in the Osiris launch campaign with Specsavers. As some of you may know I am a part time glasses wearer and try to wear them as often as possible, as mine are for long distance so I need them quite regularly.

Shrewsbury!

Last weekend me and part of my family took a lethargic trip to Shrewsbury, which is the capital of Shropshire, as this is where my mother and her family grew up. Instead of writing about this holiday I thought I'd make a vlog whilst I was there. I was inspired to vlog when I saw my cousin vlogging our holiday to Norfolk,  I did also vlog one of our later holidays to Norfolk but the software I  used crashed on me ( Technology these days).
Hope you enjoy!

Camera Review- Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd

The Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd is a utilitarian looking, budget-priced, ultra zoom digital camera that looks and handles like a miniature DSLR.
Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd
The long-zoom class has ballooned from just a couple of models less than ten years ago to the absolutely bloated list of entries currently available, and that means each new extended-zoom model is obliged to provide something to make it appear to be unique in order to garner any notice. The only down fall to this camera is that I wouldn't consider it to be the best camera when taking general photo's, I'm not saying its bad because it is far from that. Evidentially it takes wonderful photo's of animals even on full zoom!

To this end, Fuji claims the S1000fd (which replaces the S700) is the world's smallest 10 mega pixel digital camera with 12x optical zoom

Candy Kittens Competition!

I am a regular reader of the Candy Kittens blog (can be found on the Candy Kittens official website) and on the 17th of June they published a competition.

When I saw this I immediately knew I needed to enter this competition so I got to work designing my top. I came up with two different designs and couldn't choose my favourite so I thought I'd make them properly on a computer and decide then. I used a variety of different software to achieve my final designs ranging from photoshop to simple windows publisher.

But when it came to choosing I still couldn't choose, so I entered them both! Here are both of my designs for the competition...

I have since realised that I never sent my designs to the Candy Kittens Facebook page- oh I hate Iphones they never seem to work when you wamt them to. But oh well there'll be another opportunity!
Anyway Candy Kittens have posted the three finislist and they are all truly amazing designs I wouldn't have stood a chance ahaha. Here are all the designs that got through to the final:
